The Safe Airway Society Annual Meeting is offering two advanced airway workshop sessions on Friday 28th August 2026 - Session 1 (AM) and Session 2 (PM).
Each session consists of three 90-minute workshop stations running concurrently. Details below.
Session 1 (AM) will be offering an additional workshop - Airway Leads Small Group Discussion which runs for 45 minutes (AM ONLY).
Participants can choose one workshop from each session. Workshops are an additional cost to the annual meeting registration and pricing is per workshop. Places are limited. Register early to avoid disappointment. To view the workshop pricing, visit our Pricing Page.
The Neck Rescue workshop attracts ANZCA CICO-ER recognition.
If you require a certificate of attendance for these workshops, be sure to check-in at the registration desk prior to each workshop. Certificates will not be provided to delegates who have not physically checked-in to the workshops, regardless of registration status.
NOTE: Attendance check-in for the annual meeting plenary is separate to the workshop check-in.
Morning Workshop Registrations open between 07:15 - 07:30

Two-part station learning the core skill of using a hyperangulated blade and the VAFI technique requiring proper planning and additional resources to set up for success.
TIME: 07:30 - 09:00

Learn the procedural skill of neck rescue to prepare yourself should an emergency front of neck airway situation arise. Then practice how this scenario could unfold within a team-based, low-stress environment.
TIME: 07:30 - 09:00

This station encompasses three low-fidelity simulation scenarios to practice a team-based approach to managing a tracheostomy or laryngectomy emergency. Gain exposure to the various equipment and tools required for this emergency situation.

Join keynote speaker, Professor Alistair McNarry, and Chair of the ANZCA Airway Special Interest Group & State Airway Lead for VIC, Dr Rani Chahal, in an intimate discussion on airway leads. A great networking opportunity and interactive-style discussion to advance the current landscape of airway leads and representation across Australia and New Zealand.
This workshop is only offered in the morning workshop session and runs for 45-minutes. Places limited.

Afternoon workshop registrations open during the conference afternoon tea break between 15:00 - 15:30.
Afternoon Tea will be served to all conference delegates during this time.
